Event Viewer …… Why
As an IT professional, we have to look at Event viewer for every second problem/issue to find the root cause, investigation or getting help in Troubleshooting.
Event Viewer is very useful tool to find the activities those are happening on the server machines and not visible apparently. It is very critical to check the logs as it helps IT Administrator to be able to forecast the issues or sometime able to proactively resolve these.
Even after knowing all the benefits, IT Administrator avoid to check the Event logs or report errors/warnings because of number of reasons such like !!
Event logs normally doesn't have very friendly view or there is no dashboards so to checking or investigating the issue, Administrator has to go through from a lot of unknown XML language that he cannot understand. In the end, he has to refer to search engines with Event IDs to find if there is any information on the internet available regarding the log. Also it can be that much confusing and without knowing all the errors, warning and information, any person can assume that there is something wrong with the machine.
The instruction from the upper guys/ Clients that all the Event logs should be clean and if there are any errors/warnings appear in the Logs, it needs to be address and resolve. Here the upper guys or the clients need to know that all the Warnings/Errors in the Event logs are not meant to be resolved. There are many that have to be ignore as it is because of such issue that can be address by some Patch or Firmware or resolving that issue with workaround can bring new uncertain issue in the environment.
On the same time, this is also true that every Error/Earning shouldn't ignore as it can be symptoms of some big issue in the environment or either it can fill the Logs so quickly that in the time of issue, you will not be able to find related logs in the system.
